08/03/2012 - What could be better than spending your night in New York City at USA's Best Dance Club of 2012 with one of EDM's rising talent. R3hab, who has been around for quite some time now, performed one of the most thrilling sets at such a venue than ever before. It feels almost like eons ago when "The Bottle Song" was everyone and their brother's go to jam. His set was so fresh and surprisingly much different from the last time he performed alongside Afrojack, and label mate, Quintino. The bass was kicking as always with his signature sound so loud the surgeon general should really recommend earplugs for everyone inside the establishment. But no one seemed to mind the loss of hearing, everyone in the club was bumping.
Even though he is just returning from a break that couldn't have been more than a month he definitely displayed his skills on how well he performs and earned his starting position on the Jacked roster. He is now headlining DayGlow, the biggest paint party in the world, at Governors Island in September. His performance at Pacha NYC drew in a door busting crowd, reaping all the energy R3hab was feeding them. Once he dropped his and Swanky Tunes' remix of Calling (Lose my Mind), the crowd was merely putty in his hands… And if R3hab's immaculate performance wasn't enough, the Russian House Mafia, Swanky Tunes, took it far beyond anyone could expect in one night, wrapping the rave up right around breakfast time.
R3hab returns to Pacha NYC after a tad bit over a month since his last performance with Jacked tycoon, Afrojack, and label mate, Quintino. This time he is bringing along Russian trio Swanky Tunes for support. It is going to be an amazing show. Pick up your tickets while you still can!
06/28/2012 - Afrojack and the Jacked conglomerate did an amazing job this year at EDC NY showcasing how their crew gets down to business, some of my favorite performances of the festival. I figured it would be pretty hard to top such a breakthrough experience but I can honestly say they did an even more impressive job at Pacha NYC. Quintino and R3hab are some brilliant support Afrojack has along with him. The 30,000 square foot quadruple decker rave haven was loaded with clubbers in a Jacked delirium. Afrojack's debuted a lot of brand new material at EDC NY and unless you've been privileged enough to see him again you really haven't heard from it. Him and his squad rocked the house with all night long with those brand new treasured productions and then some. Quintino took to the booth first to warm up the party for head honcho, Afrojack. Dropping some of the nastiest beats ever including his super banger "Epic".
Witnessing Afrojack perform is like visiting one of the seven wonders of the world. Especially at Pacha NYC. Brings him such nostalgia being at a place he played for the first time not too too long ago now sold out waiting for this very moment. He begins his set which I would describe as banger after banger after banger. Behind the decks he can barely control himself from sporadic hand gestures and full blown raging. Smokes a stog… Maybe a swig of Jack Daniels… Then hops right back into shooting blips and bloops back at the crowd. No one will ever know what Nick Van da Wall has stored on his hard drive. You could assume a stock pile of bangers from your wildest dreams. Including all of his amazing material (Take Over Control, Rock The House, Can't Stop Me, Polkadots, to name a few) Afrojack dropped records such as Nari & Milani's "Atom", Tommy Trash's remix of "Ladi Dadi", Eric Prydz "Allein", and "The Way We See The World" with the Nervo twins present on stage.
Afrojack kicked off his 'Jacked' America Tour a few days ago and lands at Pacha NYC with cronies R3hab and Quintino this Thursday, June 28, 2012. This is going to be one of the best nights at Pacha this summer and is going to be off the van de Wall. Get your tickets while you can.
