Alesso's Birthday @ Pacha NYC [EVENT REVIEW]

07/07/2012 - Alesso is one of the youngest talents in EDM and did it big as possible for his 21st birthday. He started off with a day party at Governors Island with labelmate Otto Knows and co-prodigy Arty. As if partying all day at one of NYC's perfect venues for an outdoor summer rager, he continued with the same crew and performed yet again at Pacha NYC throughout the night. Turning 21 usually means you finally get to hit up the club and lose that alias but due to Alesso's massive musical talent this youngster has been rocking clubs for the past two years. And boy oh boy was Pacha NYC rocking all night till the wee morning hours. Otto Knows took to the booth first and had an exceptionally amazing performance dropping his very own Million Voices a huge track from the Swedish youngster this year and his brand new remix of Dada Life's Kick Out The Epic with numerous other bangers. Up next was soiree life of the party, Alesso, who played a range of music consisting of a handful of ID's, African Drop, Calling, and much much more. And last but not least Arty played a beautiful set including his new remix to Zedd's Spectrum which is set for release via Beatport on July 31st.

Sebastian Ingrosso @ Roseland Ballroom [EVENT REVIEW]

04/07/2012 - Sebastian Ingrosso's conglomerate had Roseland Ballroom rumbling off its foundation on Saturday night. Refune Records brought along heavy hitters Otto Knows and Style Of Eye to join Ingrosso in delivering the rave New York City has been fiending for. The party was phenomenal, everything about it. The venue was mobbed with raging EDM addicts with an amazing set up including a brilliant laser show that illuminated the entire ballroom, enough dry ice for the rest of the decade, and a sound system that could guarantee hearing loss for a couple of days. The show kicked into high gear when Otto Knows took to the booth around 11:00 pm with an outstanding set warming up the early crowd with his very own debut track on Refune Records "Million Voices", an uplifting track that surfaced at the perfect time during his set. Otto Knows wrapped it up around midnight leaving the decks sizzling for Style Of Eye, who gave one of the most eclectic performances I have seen in a while. Dabbling with tracks like "N*ggas in Paris" by Kanye West & Jay Z, A-Trak's remix of Martin Solveig's "The Night Out", and also a remix of Nero's "Promises", there was something in it for everyone. A truly versatile set that had me hooked the entire performance and would love nothing more then for it to never end, and then the stage went black. Every single light inside Roseland Ballroom; killed and head honcho, Sebastian Ingrosso, took to his mega stage around 1:00 am and got right to it, literally, wasting zero time before dropping Absolut Vodka's sponsored anthem "Greyhound" by Swedish House Mafia along with 4 other Swedish House Mafia classics and about 35 massive bangers. Finishing his two night stand at Roseland Ballroom with a bang.

Bounce Music Festival: Bloomington, Indiana [EVENT PREVIEW]

Bounce Music Festival is back at it once again with a line up that is BIGGER and BETTER then ever. For Little 500 (April 19, 2012), a week Indiana University dedicates to hardcore raging, Bounce Music Festival will summon Tiesto, Alesso, and Tim Mason to Pic A Chic Farms in Bloomington, Indiana. This is the second event from Bounce to be held at Pic A Chic Farms after last year's astronomical success with Avicii. Bounce Music Festival continues to amaze me with the time, dedication, and hard work they put into every single one of their events. For example, Puerto Vallarta; BMF's most recent extravaganza, is receiving phenomenal reviews across the board so you can only expect the absolute highest quality of events from these guys. There is one question that never leaves my mind… What does Bounce Music Festival have planned for their show in New Jersey and their 2 shows in New York City this summer? I can only imagine. Until then, Bloomington it is and here we go.
